Sunday Thoughts (Monday Edition)

1. In the words of my sons, “Best Christmas Ever!”

2. We had a packed house at Xtreme and a great Christmas Day service. Being that we are a non-traditional church, having church on Christmas Day was big leap for Xtreme. Big thanks to everyone who set their personal traditions aside for an hour or two to make yesterday special!

3. BIG NEWS is coming soon regarding Xtreme in 2012!

4. This Christmas was one of the most intentional gift giving years we’ve ever had as a family. Not only did we save $$$, we blessed each others socks off because of how personal each gift was.

5. Thankfully, I did not eat too much! Although, I still have to make it through a lunch meeting, a rehearsal dinner, a wedding, a New Years Eve service/party, and a New Year’s party. Maybe I should fast the next two days to build up credit?

6. I’ll be taking most of the day off to hang with my family and play with my Christmas gifts : )

7. Let’s make these last 5 days of 2011 count!

Christmas Day in Clarksville

Christmas is wonderful for so many reasons:

Family.

Food.

Presents.

More food.

Celebrating God’s greatest gift to mankind…Jesus!

Sunday morning will be a great opportunity to pause and truly celebrate the Christ of Christmas. You can do that with your family around your tree. You can do that by watching a great message online. And you can also do that by worshipping with a local church. Tomorrow I’ll post some great churches that are having Christmas Eve celebrations. However,if Sunday church is your thing, we’d love for you to join us at Xtreme this Sunday from 10am-11am. If you were planning to come anyway, why not be intentional about inviting someone to join you?

It’s a Wonderful Life?

People are hurting, broke, sick, dying, and struggling. Times are tough and some would say they are getting tougher. Money is tight. Stress is high. Life is wonderful?

Yes… because of Christ! This Sunday at Xtreme we’ll dig into the scriptures and discover that in spite of the storms of life, it really is a wonderful life. Join us for week 3 of our “Christmas @TheMovies” series this Sunday at 10am!

Fab Four Christmas

I’m a huge fan of the Beatles. Last week I picked up an awesome album that takes 20 classic Christmas songs and does them all in the style of classic Beatles Tunes. Here are my favorites:

Joy to the World/Please Please Me

Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer/I Saw Her Standing There

Jingle Bells/Tomorrow Never Knows

Rockin Around the Christmas Tree/Got to Get You Into My Life

A Beatles Christmas

I’m stoked about our December series! We’ll be teaching about the Christ of Christmas all month with an awesome “Fab Four” twist. You don’t want to miss it!
