Costumes

So I decided to have a party with our young adults group on Saturday. The problem is…I still have no idea what I’m going to come as! I thought about being Stanley or Dwight from The Office…but that would mean putting on “dress” clothes on a Saturday and that is against my religion. I don’t want to be the lame guy who wears and Army outfit. I was in the Army so that’s technically not dressing up. last year I was Quinton “Rampage” Jackson. I thought it was great…but I had to spend all night explaining who I was. Don’t want to experience that again. I’d love some suggestions!

A Day in the Life

3:14pm – put announcements and BHC slides in Media Shout

4:06pm – scrub chili stain from car seat

4:40pm – Dunkin Donuts stop with James

7:35pm -Discuss the APFT with Knop and Conley

8:54pm – Lose my voice screaming for APSU (had to drown out the drunks)

“I didn’t even have to use my AK…today was a good day”

Connection

Had a great night at Next Level. We had an impromptu prayer meeting that was great. I really felt like we needed to connect on that level. It’s one thing to say that you are going to pray for someone…actually praying with and for them is a whole different matter. I really believe God is going to honor  what we did tonight. I believe that God spoke loud tonight because we weren’t worried about time or format. We were real with Him and each other. It is so awesome to see real connection happen in the body of Christ. Its not about meetings or numbers. Its about connecting people to Christ…one life at a time.

APSU Move In

Had a great time at APSU today. Passed out free food. Helped total strangers move into their new rooms. Let out light shine on a secular campus. Good stuff! Here’s to a great year for Next Level XA!

Thank God for Opportunities!

Have a busy 4 days ahead. I’m speaking in 2 hours at our Wednesday night service. The message is called “I Pity the Fool”.  Tomorrow Next Level has our first outreach of the year: Freshman Move-In at APSU. We are giving away 100 goodie bags and helping some of the 600 new freshman move into their new homes. I’m stoked. Friday and Saturday Jaemi and I will head to Nashville for the Blend Conference. I don’t know if I’m more excited about seeing my friends, hearing Tommy Barnett and Alan Jackson, getting away for a weekend, speaking on Saturday,  or all of the above. I’m so thankful for the opportunity to do His business!

Next Level Thoughts…

Had a great time tonight @Next Level. Here are my random thoughts after our Saturday meeting:

1. We need to treat ourselves to some catered food.

2. Having the lights low after a 2 month break messed with my eyes.

3. I still feel like I talk too much.

4. I miss the MC students, but I loved the vibe tonight.

5. I’m excited about the new connections that were made as we opened up tonight.

6. Really looking forward to the future missions/outreach projects that will come out of Next Level. We are more than a hangout!

7. Also looking forward to the Next Level/Master’s Commission Joint Ops.

8. Thank God for the last 5 years of fruitful and fulfilling ministry!

9. Thank God for what the next 5 years will bring should the Lord not return. (that’s not cliche for me.)

10. We need a Wii

Back at It

It is good to be back! I just climbed out of all of the email and messages that accumulated during 9 glorious days off! There is nothing like being recharged and refocused. I’m usually only good for 3 days of vacation. Then I start to go stir crazy. This year was different. I needed every second of that break to unwind and relax. I wasn’t expecting to preach on my first Sunday back…but God knew and He did all of the work! I get to share at our Youth group this Friday and I teach at Blend Conference at the end of the month. I’m stoked about  the upcoming semester at APSU. MCC is making some changes that will greatly increase our effectiveness. Next Level will be doing some serious outreach. I’m so blessed to be a part of something bigger than myself! It is great to be back!
