Identity matters. You are more than your job title, marital status, hobby, or income bracket. I see so many Christians struggle in seasons of change because they are consumed with the aforementioned labels. Here are the cold hard facts:
One day, you will no longer wear a uniform.
One day, your kids will move out, get jobs, and get married.
One day, your life may change in such a way as to alter your ability to find meaning in a hobby or physical attribute.
One day, you may lose your job.
How do you bounce back from these inevitable changes? The answer is simple, yet profound: find your identity in Christ. In Him you have assurance, hope, peace, and purpose. If you are a follower of Christ, I encourage you to let go of the labels and avoid the identity crisis by resting in who God says you are.
