Thoughts on Change and Church Life

I love reviewing “old” sermon/teaching notes. Here are some great thoughts on “Change” from my friend Clem Ferris:

“Denial is the refusal to see the world from any other perspective than your own, or the one in which you feel the most comfortable.”

“The good cargo of a successful venture may aid in the demise of that venture if one is not willing to change. See Acts 27.

“Beware of Babylonian standards of success (buildings, money, space, crowds).”

“We must be willing to jettison wrong mentalities and inaccurate methods if we are to succeed in our journey.”

“Sometimes, God will destroy our “ship” in order to get us to the next phase of our journey.”

“Spiritual migration (journey/movement) requires spiritual navigation (paths/gifts).”
